Smily’s featured track – Bliss by CBKtrxx

Hello lovelies,

It is nice to be back to start writing blog articles again. For a while I wondered if it was still relevant to keep doing this. But based off all your feedback it is still very much wanted so I will continue to do this for now.

Most blogs charge a fee to create a post to offset the time it takes to put together. I have not done so yet but may ask for a small fee to help support me support all of you in the near future. For now if you want to buy me a coffee or send a small token of appreciation for the support of music artists it is much appreciated.

You may do so here:

https://paypal.me/smilydutchgirl?country.x=US&locale.x=en_US

My first featured track of the year is one of the tracks on my most recent curated Spotify playlists. I have followed and listened to CBKtrxx for a little while now and enjoy the different and unique sounds.

In addition to a love for music we also discovered that we share a love for KLM (Dutch airline) which was something really fun to find out.

What draws me to this track is a combination of the beautiful melodic sound mixed with a dark sound.

I look forward to hearing what all of you think about the track. Be sure to follow, listen and send some positive messages to encourage this artist to keep up the great work.

Now let’s let the artist speak and tell us about themselves and the track

About the track and Artists by the Artist:

Hi I am CBKtrxx and I am an electronic songwriter/producer from Sweden.

Most of the music is electronic and retro influenced, but I can pick up the guitar and bass too.

I like to make new music that comes to me. To paint with a sound and producing it and find something beautiful.

I listen to a lot of music and have always done. I grew up with synthpop and then went deep into the indie music scene. We had a good indie band with live music and guitars, bass and drums and then I let it go for awhile. The music. Then I felt I have more music to make.

I think about songs and sounds all the time. Honestly I do music for myself. But the joy of people listening to my music is unreal. Those people who find my music and let me know

I started to release songs in 2020 and they are somewhere in the electronic retro world with an indie influence. I work in Logic Pro and record most of it at home. I like to program some and then playing for real. Get the feeling into it. I did a song called The Beach which is meant to have a lofi vibe and a song called Slowly which is more dreampop. The latest songs Bliss and Faith are more electronic

Bliss and Faith are my latest songs. 2 songs that I felt belong together.

Bliss is an indie electronic song that builds up a feeling to a sound of retro synthesizers. Programmed synthbass and beats combined with real playing it has something of an electronic slow blues vibe in it. It is dark but melodic and ask what Bliss is.

I started out with lyrics that were more advanced and they didn’t feel right when I first tried them. They looked good but Bliss is a special song where the sound is dark and it is like a drawn out feeling and well. I did a take with lyrics more straight to the point and it felt so much better. That is where the ”if you ask I’m gonna tell you” comes from. Bliss is about a feeling you get with the right person. “And your taste it goes around me, and the flavor magnifies me”. I am really happy with the song and the sound on this one.

That’s it everyone please find links to the artist and track below

Don’t forget to support each other and your art, spread love and kindness and keep on dancing.

Good Vibes to all of you ☺️ Smily/Judy

Playlists and Artists Support 🎶 by Beau & Smily

Hello lovely humans 💕

If you are on Twitter you probably already know that at the end of 2020, Beau and I made an end of year Artist Support playlist.

We had many submissions and after listening to all of them created a playlist filled with talented Artists.

This playlist has a large variety of genres, predominantly different genres within electronic music, but includes some Indie artists and other unique music which is not easy to classify

The playlist quickly gained followers of artists and music lovers alike whom enjoy supporting one another.

I am so happy to be part of such an amazing community 💛💗 and thankful for Beau to listen to so many tracks with me, always ready to share his opinion and decide together which ones fit best. It made the process even more fun.

For those of you who haven’t listened yet. Here’s the playlist 😁 Remember to follow share and listen to support each other.

There will be a playlist or maybe multiple in 2021 as well. More on that later!

Meanwhile as you know all support is done out of love for music without charging any fees.

Should you like to offer some support and buy me a coffee you can do that here. Anything is appreciated 💖

Till next time all you beautiful souls

Smily’s featured track January 2021

Hello all you wonderful music loving humans. It has been a while since I have been actively posting articles on my blog.

Last year I started out active and extra happy, looking forward to sharing many musical and travel adventures in addition to the usual featured tracks and Artists I like to support here.

2020 didn’t quite go as planned for any of us including my plans for the blog and artist support. As we are now starting in 2021 and still unsure if how all will unfold this year, I’d like to remain hopeful. I wish all of you health and the best this year as well.

I would like to kick off the year with my first featured track article. This track is one I discovered last year and played a lot. Let’s get started

A bit about the artist by the artist

Hi there, I am Jeremy Greysmark. I am a music producer and have been playing the piano since a young This is somethang that influenced my music, and made me very melody oriented.

The way I personally like to work is by starting by writing a colourful melody purely on the piano. If it sounds good on there, it will work in a full track.

I was born and raised in Germany. I lived and worked in Scotland and then moved to London in 2014 where I am still currently based.

One of the things I have had the honor to do were writing the music for the closing ceremony of a German music festival called Parookaville in the years 2015 2016 and 2017. I also work as a sound designer for animations.

A bit about the track by the Artist

I wrote Faceless when I lived in Scotland, Aberdeen. In the same year I moved to London and discovered that Jodie my flatmate was an excellent singer.

This song uses a variety of delays and pianos to create this unique sounding melodic plucky instrument. Vocal chops of Jodie have been used in the drop to make it sound different. The vocals have not been pitched like in a lot of other songs, which makes it feel more organic and give this song this deep feel.

The lyrics and the general feel came from the daily chore of commuting in London or any other big city for that matter. Everything is very anonymous, people just care for themselves and everyone is just out to help themselves. Everybody on a daily commute is literally faceless. People concentrate not to make eye contact in order to make it to the end of the day quicker. Any distraction or hold up is inconvenient and the daily “rat race” just seems never-ending

A bit about the Artist by Smily

Jeremy and I have followed each other on twitter for quite sometime. I’ve always enjoyed our interactions, listening to melodies he created and posted and him commenting on tracks I’ve shared as well as joining in on some of the random things I like to do on Twitter to connect with humans worldwide. I enjoy our conversations and appreciate the way he focuses on the melody.

A bit about the track by Smily

One one of my routine Artist Support playlists I was building, Jeremy sent me this track. When I listened to it I immediately liked it. The melody is great and catchy while remaining unique, I love that the vocals were not autotuned (which I feel gets so overused in this industry) and the message touched me too. I am the kind of human that enjoys connecting with people, and often when these kind of routines fall into place maybe we can feel a distance building.

I enjoyed the track so much that I submitted it to be part of my monthly radioshow that I have had the honor to air on Bostin Radio. They loved the track there as well and have made it a part of their regular rotation of music 🎶

I think after 2020 we all need human connections even more then ever and when we go back to a more adjusted life I hope we will keep this in mind and find the right balance.

Now it is your turn, listen to the music here and let me know your thoughts. Remember to support your artists, they need it so they can continue to make more music 🎶

Beau & Smily’s Music Adventures – 2nd edition

Hi everyone 🤗 Guess what time it is??? Time for another music adventure!

After releasing our first shared playlist and streaming the process online, Beau & I got together (virtually via Twitch due to the virus) to create a second playlist.

Thank you for everyone that joined and watched our live stream. When friends from all over the world tune in it makes it an extra fun and lovely experience. The world seems like a smaller place then.

This time Beau and I decided to have our playlist have that lovely “wubwub” sound. Beau always coming up with great ideas called our stream on twitch; Beau Peska wub making with @smilydutchgirl. Our playlist also is named wubwub making.

We had so much fun putting the tracks together, and enjoyed all the people that joined and offered suggestions.

We look forward to doing more live streams and fun projects in the future together and will share them with you 😊💗

Please enjoy our playlist below. Spotify and Apple links, whichever you prefer. Please follow, share and listen to support! Now get your wub on 😝

Smily’s featured track

Hellooooo everyone ✌👋😁🎶 Ready for a bright and happy new week, with lots of good music? Well let me start you off right!

Today I am featuring a track by an artist I published an article about a while ago. At that time he was a dj that recently started finishing producing tracks he had been working on for a while.

I would like to feature one of his newer tracks that has a great sound. But first let me give Chris a chance to talk about himself and today’s featured track!

A bit about the artist by the artist

Hi I’m Chris and as my dj name I go by Porter. I produce techy electronic sounds, bass heavy – dance floor drivers. What I scope in to and I hope to do more is shows.

In the last year I have been signed to 2 labels, Ultrasonic Music Germany (UMG) and Pink Dolphin Music Ltd.

I released my first EP with UMG ‘Non Conformity’ witch it techno and tech house while 3 tracks on pink dolphin are more experimental electronic style.

A bit about the track by the artist

This track “Grinder” is where I decided I would try and merge the future house sounds with the more traditional housey tech beats.

A bit about the artist & track by Smily

It’s nice to see how Chris confidence has grown and to hear him experiment with different sounds. It also made me smile to see that Rich from @PinkDolphinMLtd who’s label I enjoy supporting for having such great unique music, had signed Chris under his label.

I really enjoy the track Grinder, I like how it builds up and is it’s own kind of style and genre. The beat is amazing too. So give it a try and let myself and Chris know what you think.

Don’t forget to show your support, by listening to the music, sharing feedback and by sharing the track and article, so more people get to enjoy the music.

You may follow Chris on Twitter at @ChrisIPorter

Smily’s featured track

Hello lovely Twitterfam! How is everyone? I hope you are all enjoying your weekend.💖

I am ready to share some more featured tracks this weekend and right now I would like to introduce you to Jaylyn from Manchester, England.

I really enjoy her presence on Twitter supporting all artists as well as her great skills and unique style of music.

Please make sure you follow her on Twitter @JaylynSnowMusic

I’ve been meaning to feature one of Jaylyns tracks for a while and am so glad to do so today ☀️🌈

Let’s have her introduce herself and share some information about her track!

A little about the artist by the artist

Hi there, I’m Jaylyn Snow. I’m an electronic dance music producer from Cheshire, England.

I didn’t use the term “EDM” for a reason though! I don’t like to put a genre on my music, it doesn’t fit into the current definition of “EDM” but it’s electronic and it makes you dance so.. I dunno!

I’ve spent most of my life playing instruments and writing music, but until 2017 I didn’t really think too much into music production away from playing my guitar and writing down a few words and chords.

The best way to explain how I got into this side of things would be boredom. I was really bored one day and downloaded the 30 day free trial of Ableton, cranked out a track, and people hated it.

Back to the drawing board I went. Instead of using Ableton, I switched over to FL Studio and bought a full licence for it, took onboard the negative comments I received in regards to the only track I’d ever uploaded, and started making some real, soul fuelled music.

Although my style has constantly changed/evolved over the couple of years I’ve been producing music, I like to believe that I’ve stuck to my melodic, story telling style for the most part.

I’m not too sure where I want from music production, I’m just enjoying the ride, expressing myself and enjoying connecting with a ton of likeminded, talented individuals.

About the track by the artist

Damage is not a new track of mine but it’s one of my personal favourites and I feel it tells the exact story I wanted it to during production.

The track was inspired by my own self, the build-up of anger in the song was how I was feeling at the time of production due to things that were going on in my life.

About the track by Smily

This track is really well done, I believe this is one of the first tracks by Jaylyn that I noticed and thought oh I really like her style! 😁🌸🌸🎶

Since then I have been listening to many of her tracks and enjoying hearing the creativity and expression in music!

It’s a catchy beat and melody and really well put together. I love having this track play on my drive home after a high stress day at work (even jobs you lo e can be high stress some days) and I feel this great sense of stress relief listening to it going in to “the zone” listening to it.

I hope you will all enjoy it too. Below are the different ways to listen to it.

Dont forget to share the article, listen and share the track if you enjoyed it, and of course show Jaylyn some support 😊

As I listened to DJ7Teen’s music and got to speak with her some quickly realized just how passionate she is about music. I want to support her drive, talent and passion and her as a person, and I know all of you my friends and Twitterfam out there also love music and supporting the ones that make it.

So let me have the artists introduce themselves and their track 😄🌈🌸

A little about the artist by the artist.

Hi I am Dj7teen. I have been djing since i was 15 years old.

I fell in love with music since a young age and became really interested in djing when i was a freshman in highschool.

I am selftaught but have been guided in the industry by big producers and labels and learned so much.

I’ve been producing orginal content since I was about 16/17 yrs old. Now im signed under a label from the United Kingdom DamoFunk Productions and I could not have asked for a better label to be signed under.

They arent just my label and mentors but they became like family to me.

A little bit about the track by the artist.

What inspired my track is how I feel about music. My main objective is to get people to see how music of any genre still can unite people.

Music is the one thing we all have in common. Its how we learn, grow, and teach each other basic morals. Something that helps us cope with everything.

We are all in this together. I am very greateful for my fans and supporters

A little bit about the track by Smily

Smily’s Playlist by the Twitterfam

🦄🌈❤🎶 Hello all of you beautiful souls!

Most of you know how much I like to support Artists, make playlists and share music on Twitter. My taste is very broad in music and I share accordingly.

About a month ago I thought it would be fun to make a playlist of music and songs all made by the great artists on Twitter who love, make and support one another in making music.

I was pleasantly overwhelmed with the response and submissions of tracks by artists. There is so much talent out there, so much creativity. All of you that submitted your music, I want to thank you! And if your track didn’t make the playlist this time, don’t give up! There will be more opportunities, I always listen every track that is sent to me. 😊🎶

It was such a success that I have decided not to stop here. I was trying to decide if I’d start making these playlists monthly or keep building on the original playlist.

I put a poll out on Twitter and asked for all your feedback and ideas, so I can keep them for consideration when I make my decision on which way I choose to go. So thank you everyone for your feedback and thoughts. It means a lot 😊🥰

I have decided to make a monthly or bi-monthly playlist (depending on my work/travel schedule)

Then after sharing the tracks one by one on Twitter and then the entire playlist. Make it stay available on Spotify as well as write a blog article with a link to the playlist including the artists that contributed to the playlist. This way they may share the article and the playlist to help themselves and fellow artists to get their music out there.

There are some other ideas and future plans in the works but I will tell you more on that later 🤗😉

Below please see the link to the very first Twitterfam playlist which I hope is the start of something special 💕 Your music certainly is special!

Thank you to all these amazing artists which are a part of this beautiful playlist.

For Avicii ❤

I wanted to do something, say something while respecting the family and their wishes but I didn’t know how.

@mrdjcosmo reached out to me about using my blog to do something. He helped me come up with a lovely idea of collecting messages from the community that was so strongly affected.

I love this idea of allowing people to express their feelings and say what they want to say to Avicii wherever he may be. Only kind heartfelt messages as there is too much sadness and negativity out there already.

All of our hearts are hurting 💔 We want to show you how much you meant to all of us in this community, how we are grieving and how much love we have for you and your music. We are putting these messages out in the universe to express our feelings and hope they will get to you❤

I will let @mrdjcosmo speak first

Just a few days ago we’ve lost one of the greatest DJ/Producer that ever walked the earth. With his biggest single “Hey Brother” in 2013, which touched millions is still going strong. Tim Bergling AKA AVICII will be remembered forever❤️❤️ #Avicii4Ever @mrdjcosmo

And here is what I would like to say. I have never been that affected by the death of an artist before. My heart is literally aching and I cried. His young talented life just like that gone… It made me stop and think and reflect on life.

The people I love and how some things are worth fighting for. To tell people you care about them because what if they aren’t here tomorrow? To be there for those that are feeling sad even if you don’t know exactly how to help, to just try your best for them.

Realizing that modern day society sometimes makes people feel too pressured to perform a certain way and it all becoming too much. Not only in this industry though, but in daily life for many with different things people try to accomplish.

Please see the messages that were sent to me below. Each person sharing their feelings in their own way.

Love with a sad heart 💓 Smily

With Avicii’s sad passing, it shows just how short our lives can be. I urge everyone to live a productive life and to leave behind a lasting legacy of respect, peace and love. Just as Tim has left for us all. RIP Legend. @PressureZone

Tim, I know you probably wouldn’t remember me even if we saw each other in person again, but I just gotta say I am glad I met you and knew of your music when I did. Even when I was 17 and still played a guitar, stubborn as ever, I knew your music stood out even the slightest bit. I’ve watched your music become rather influential, and I ran into many a-clone, and I heard LE7ELS, Wake Me Up, and Hey Brother in a long list of places that I could never finish. You may have had it difficult, but your situation along with my own has inspired me and most likely many others to stand up for artists’ rights, and I will continue to do so even in your passing. Regardless of what happens in the next step of Dance music and whatever passing trend comes along, I’m sure history will remember your hits and the impact that they had on many people. May you rest in peace! – @AlterityMusic

Game changer. Simply put. Always tries to broaden the horizon of whatever genre he decided to make that day. Will be missed by many 🙏 @DJRecklessRyan

RIP Avicii. Taken too soon and always remembered for the sounds of summer. One Love and badly missed by all XXX @Veritycrank please see the art she made below

IMG_20180421_200908

You will be missed. Your incredible talents helped bring some joy to those that heard them. Never will you be forgotten. @ChromeFumofoo

Goodbye from this world Avicii, thank you for the amazing feelings you gave to us. Your music is clarifying and soul cleansing, it will now live on long long past many future generations to come. You were a brilliant human being who inspired great emotion in many forms.#RIPAvicii @StanginNbangin Please see the picture he made below.

IMG_20180422_102125

I remember 2011 a Melbourne club called Motel, a skinny blue eyed blonde kid played a song called Levels, we didn’t know how that song would be the catalyst for something the whole world loved. His name was Avicii, to me he will always be Tim Bergling. We all idolize the artist but often we forget the human being. I met him briefly in 2013, a shy, fragile but kind man, the kind you want to hug the pain away you see in his face. The pain has gone now Tim, it’s ours as fans to deal with and I hope you soar free and happy because that’s what all beauty deserves. @AStateofChez

Aug 29, 2011 The first day of my 9th grade I knew there was something else in life besides academics after watching a video where I listened “Levels” for the first time. After that day, nothing has been the same, thank you Avicii showing me what living feels like. @robedub28

A Swedish young man; so artistic, passionate, and creative. With the assistance of Laidback Luke, determines that the sounds he can create electronically, will be the path he wants to lead. Unfortunately it was a path of two tales. One a genius musical journey, for which the world has been left with treasures, yet a void now left with his passing. The other path, was one in which this genius was so unhappy, with the life the beautiful music caused him. A true loss, one with the other greats gone to soon. Be at peace Tim, make music for all in heaven now. @vista318

Avicii why is it the good always die young! Maybe its just their time and was his destiny to show others what’s possible. While he was here he burnt bright and his music burnt into the memories of many is his legacy and how he attains immortality. Whatever you believe, hear or see, do not judge him by his flaws or his mistakes, judge him by his deeds and the happiness he brought to millions via his musical genius and the generosity of spirit that eminated from it. Now and forever.. He will always remain an important flag post in my life. #RIPAvicii Damian of akausband @akausband

This a cautionary tale for DJs. We are sad and grieving yet feel joy in your music Avicii @TribalTechno see aditional contribution below.

IMG_20180422_113155

He knew exactly how to produce a track that would bring people together, regardless of their musical preference, social background, or culture! The world didn’t just lose a young musician, but in that sense a humanitarian too! If there is a Heaven, then it’s probably jamming to his tunes right now, everyone from Elvis to MLK, Lady Diana, Prince in one crazy heavenly party DJed by Avicii! @youwishmusic

Thank you for the music and the melodies Tim. May you find peace in the hereafter and evermore. Onto a place where music was born is where we shall all pass. Beyond Beyond ✌@_McSweeney

As the Swedish House Mafia said on BBC Radio 1 “Goosebumps Never Lie” and Avicii was one of those artists when I would watch him live always give me goosebumps. RIP Avicii @HouseCracka

He left us so many amazing melodies and memories through his music! His tracks would cheer anyone up 💖 @charlottesdj

Regardless of the genre of music we all love, Avicii has a special place in all our hearts. He crossed all genres & will be greatly missed 💖 @F__U__Trump

I’m gutted about avicii, the arpeggios in his tracks were both sublime and an inspiration to much of my music and I hear influences in the music of others. He will be greatly missed. He was a fine man and a true all round entertainer. HisHis mem will live on through his music for a very long time to come. It’s hard losing someone so young and my best wishes go out to his family. @joncoopermusic

AVICII was a true pioneer in EDM.He showed us that it is possible to fuse different genres, such as soul and country, into electronic dance music, creating something truly beautiful that can reach the hearts of everyone, not just EDM fans.May his soul have a restful journey. @euromericaradio

Tim-tragic-and tragic shame that he didn’t act a bit sooner on his problems. Its a cliche that he will live on through his music-but he will-but 28- @Alastorworld

Avicii was one of the reasons I started listening to edm in the first place. His tracks (especially ‘silhouettes’) inspired and still inspire me to go on, to continue chasing my dreams. His contribution to the world of electronic music is huge. It would be fair to say that he’s an actual music genius. Now that Tim’s gone, it all feels so empty and fake. but his legacy will continue to live on, and we, his fans, will make sure it does.
rest easy, Tim. we all love you and miss you. @yunidmusic

Thank you to all that shared their feelings. 💖 Smily
