Today I’d like to introduce you to a lovely Virtual Self remix made by Sine Wave ( @arismakesmusic ) I was introduced to Aris mixes by my friend Chez ( @astateofchez ) with a check this guy out I think you’ll like his music and she knows me well! I like Aris unique sound all his own on all his music. This particular remix I am featuring is the one I like best so far! I look forward to all future work of Aris and look forward to help support him 😊

A bit about the Artist by the Artist

I grew up in a very musical family. My mother and grandfather are both gifted musicians. Both of them were grade school music teachers in Soviet Armenia, where I was born. When we moved to the United States in 1988, music was one of the few things our family could hold on to from our past. I grew up listening to all sorts of world music, and in my teens, found heavy metal, which eventually led me to electronic music in my college years. I was amazed at the stuff people like Aphex Twin, Autechre, and Squarepusher were putting out. So I downloaded a free tracking software in 2001 (because recording gear was so expensive at the time) and started my journey in music making. The rest, as they say, is history.

A bit about the mix by the Artist

I fell in love with ‘a.i.ngel’ immediately. Virtual Self did a beautiful job bringing up nostalgic memories of an era of electronic music that is now lost in time, buried deep in an internet that no longer exists. And when I started to listen to remixes of this song, they all sort of sounded the same to me. So I figured I try and change it up a bit. I wanted this mix to gallop at a completely different pace than the original. I also wanted the mix to sound like it was being played by a rock band in a galactic circus, with the focal point of this mix being the outro of the original. I fell in love with ‘a.i.ngel’ immediately. Well there isn’t much more I can say I think. The description Aris uses of his mix is beautifully worded. I personally enjoy how Aris has managed to have a unique sound that’s all his own, without allowing too much outside influence. Sticking to his gut in music and sound and following his heart. Ryan Shawn McDonald from Vancouver Island, British Columbia Canada. I have been taking music seriously as far as production about 5 years. I don’t limit myself to one genre and consider  myself a multi genre artist.

I made the track in mid summer while a lot of emotions were flowing through me at the time. I feel like that came through in the sound. It’s me on the piano keys, i did the entire track, no samples.

A bit about the Track by Smily.

I chose this track by Ryan because the melody is so pleasant and dreamy. The title fits this song as I can imagine looking up at the stars with a hopefull dreamy feeling, on the verge of falling in love, with thoughts of good days ahead. A song for us dreamers that aren’t afraid to dream but then also go after making those dreams come true.

Smily’s featured New Release

Hello all you wonderful music lovers. You are in for such a treat, because today I am able to present to you the newly released track produced by John Lutchman.

Before I share this track I want to tell you a bit of background so you can relate to the beauty of this moment and this track.

Before I started my own blog years ago I used to write articles for other blogs now and then. One of the first articles I ever wrote was a small list of tracks of producers who I had heard on SoundCloud where when I heard their music it touched my heart and soul in a way where it made me feel this is a producer to watch out for in the future. John Lutchman was one of them and one I felt strongly about.

To me it’s been exciting watching him work so hard towards his goals and making it so far. He plays many shows in New York and Austin and has grown to a whole new level of skills. He’s reached great success and I was beyond honored when John shared the track he made with me and asked for my feedback.

I always enjoy getting to hear a track someone worked hard on and put their heart and soul into, it’s something special and I treasure it whenever this happens. When I heard John’s track the melody and sound hit me so hard!

I love the vibe of this song so much, the melody is lovely and the first time I heard it I just didn’t want it to end. And it moved me, really moved me. Tears were streaming down my face even though it’s not a sad melody. His music touched my heart and soul. There are many talented producers out there, but not many can translate feelings into music. It’s a special talent only a few people have. John is one of them.

John has worked EXTREMELY hard over the years and hasn’t always gotten the breaks he deserves in my eyes, but he doesn’t complain and keeps working hard with a positive attitude.

I’d like to ask all of you in our lovely music community to now all get together and show John how much we appreciate people like him that love the music as much as us. I’d like to ask you to carefully listen to this track and see how it moves YOUR soul and then share it with your friends. For Avicii ❤

I wanted to do something, say something while respecting the family and their wishes but I didn’t know how.

@mrdjcosmo reached out to me about using my blog to do something. He helped me come up with a lovely idea of collecting messages from the community that was so strongly affected.

I love this idea of allowing people to express their feelings and say what they want to say to Avicii wherever he may be. Only kind heartfelt messages as there is too much sadness and negativity out there already.

All of our hearts are hurting 💔 We want to show you how much you meant to all of us in this community, how we are grieving and how much love we have for you and your music. We are putting these messages out in the universe to express our feelings and hope they will get to you❤

And here is what I would like to say. I have never been that affected by the death of an artist before. My heart is literally aching and I cried. His young talented life just like that gone… It made me stop and think and reflect on life.

The people I love and how some things are worth fighting for. To tell people you care about them because what if they aren’t here tomorrow? To be there for those that are feeling sad even if you don’t know exactly how to help, to just try your best for them.

Realizing that modern day society sometimes makes people feel too pressured to perform a certain way and it all becoming too much. Not only in this industry though, but in daily life for many with different things people try to accomplish.

I remember 2011 a Melbourne club called Motel, a skinny blue eyed blonde kid played a song called Levels, we didn’t know how that song would be the catalyst for something the whole world loved. His name was Avicii, to me he will always be Tim Bergling. We all idolize the artist but often we forget the human being. I met him briefly in 2013, a shy, fragile but kind man, the kind you want to hug the pain away you see in his face. The pain has gone now Tim, it’s ours as fans to deal with and I hope you soar free and happy because that’s what all beauty deserves. @AStateofChez

A Swedish young man; so artistic, passionate, and creative. With the assistance of Laidback Luke, determines that the sounds he can create electronically, will be the path he wants to lead. He knew exactly how to produce a track that would bring people together, regardless of their musical preference, social background, or culture! The world didn’t just lose a young musician, but in that sense a humanitarian too! I have a new featured track for you all to enjoy. As you all know I am a bit newer to the Techno genre and have been exploring that field some in addition to the electronic genres I already love so much. Today I want to introduce you to a friend of mine that has been sharing great podcasts and mixes with me that I truly enjoy. Chris Porter. We started talking about him producing his own music and I was very delighted when he went for it and started making his own tracks. Let’s let Chris speak for himself. 😊

I’m Chris Porter, living in the Western Isles, Scotland. DJ for 8 years and most recently started producing. I have regular slots on radio stations like casafondaradio.com, studiosoundsradio.com and locally on anradio.scot.

I love a bass heavy sound driving a dance floor and just aim to play and share motivating, captivating Techno. Hardcore Drumcode fan boy 😂

A bit about the track by the Artist

The track is made from inspired ideas kind of subconsciously from my favourite producers. Trikk, Pan Pot, Pig & Dan, Adam Beyer, Harvey MacKay I could go on, I’m happy how it sounds although I will need to have it mastered and feel optimistic about future projects! 😁

To be honest I want to make techno sounds that haven’t been heard before but keeping a deep dark driving energy about it, hopefully I will keep to my word!

I liked it the moment I heard it. It has a nice tech feel to it that close your eyes and dance to the way the music makes you feel kind of vibe. I think Chris is modest and has great talent in his field. This track isn’t mastered yet but still manages to sound really good.

Art inspired by Music

Today I bring you something quite special. I want to introduce a beautiful soul to you that has great talent in art. Let me introduce Andromeda Galaxy aka GMoney. I met her via Twitter where we enjoyed sharing and listening to music. I loved seeing her art come across my feed as well.

Then one day she sends me a picture of a painting she started inspired by one of my playlists. She would paint while listening to the music and each time send me updates of the progress. Of course this felt like such a huge honor it blew me away. The art is finished now and I’d like to share some pictures of the art inspired by music and to let dear Andromeda share a bit about herself and her art. Please enjoy 😘🌈

A word by the Artist

One of the messages in my state of being the visual artist Gmoney is to see the humor in life. My given first name starts with a G and I’ve been called Gmoney for different reasons by different people in a fun, honest way.

But for me and people who know me well it holds a kind of sarcastic joke. I mean you’d think I’m ballin with a name like that right? Fact is most of the time i have no money lol But I am known to be reliable, help people, take care of business and have great taste. I have no car, but sometimes people think I have wings, or a broomstick.

It’s been said about my word, you can take it to the bank. And somehow—I won’t say things always work out for me but—great things come through and I find money and good fortune in unusual places… by looking closely, being observant.

That’s another message in my artwork: pay attention, be aware, inspect the details. Because you will often see something new or see a familiar thing in a new perspective, when you’re paying close attention in life and also I hope when you look at my canvases.

Most of all, it’s about the music, for people who don’t listen to electronic dance music and who do. Painting is how I visually, synesthetically interpret the sounds and feels of our music through the lens of whatever is on my own mind. Even when I’m inspired by outside visions, the techno is always what moves my brush!

The way I keep it positive for myself is, under the name Gmoney I’m painting under a symbol representing success I will achieve in good time, including ample means to enjoy more of what’s amazing in life…including a very long list of EDM festivals I haven’t been to yet!!

One goal I have is to paint live to live music at all kinds of EDM events… to meet and talk with all different crews and DJs from all over the world. I want to ‘bring it to the next level’ by infusing the live energy of the crowd at a show into my visions and work.

Gmoney’s recording artist alter-ego is a creature of voice, sound and word: Andromeda Galaxy and on the hard side, the Androminator.

What a lovely bunch of humans they are. Damian has been great about staying in touch and letting me know what they are doing, goals, dreams etc.

A bit about the artist by the artist

The founder of the Band Damo Funk (Damian) decided in 2013 to pursue a long held ambition to create music and publish it.

The name of the Band came about as a homage to Prince. The Artist Known as Us is a collective of like minded individuals producing music they like, predominantly House & Techy Trance Beats.

We embrace influences from all walks of Music including Funk & Disco. We create, play and enjoy music both in the Studio and Live. Live music has been our current emphasis to get our music out there as well as online.

Our Ethos, Love, Peace and Unity through Music…

A bit about the track by the artist

Funked up Trance thing came about after putting our third Album together, The Sunset remixes Dreamscape Volume III E.P.

This was one of the tracks rummaging around Damo’s Brain for some time. It was influenced by the love for 1990’s Trance.  He used a groove he came up with and a beat he created himself.

It was included on the latest Album Casa Disco in September 2017. On reflection its one of our strongest dancefloor contenders!

We love it and hope clubbers, Dj’s and lovers of dance music who stumble across it love  it as much as we do.

A bit about the Track by Smily

The title pretty much says it all. This is a Trancy track with a lot of funky to it. I find myself jamming out in my car on my way to work happily whenever it comes on my playlist. I feel this is one of those tracks that many people will enjoy with a wide range of taste in music. So please give it a listen 😊💙

Hello Sunshines 🌞🌻

It is with great pleasure and honor I would like to present my first featured Artist article. Please allow me to introduce You Wish. 😊

I got to know You Wish aka Gabi years ago when I only just started getting to know how to work Twitter, and the lovely music you can find there.

He followed me and shared music with me (one of the first to do so) and we started to chat about music happily. I enjoyed his style of music and still do. I feel his personal style reflects his personality.  Filled with Happy Vibes, EDM with a touch of that Euro dance I grew up with and love so much.

I  knew we would get along great when he sent me a DM (hope you don’t mind me sharing this Gabi it’s too funny not to share) opening with…. Can I ask you a personal question?  I was wondering what in the world was coming next and then he sent a picture with a hand full of gummy bears asking:  Would you like some gummy bears?😂 Instant friends after this moment!

There used to be a station called RaveCave many of you may remember this. We’d all tune in to You Wish hour show and listen worldwide with many friends who all became dear to me. I still miss having our Twitter Rave parties. Lovely moments I’ll always treasure.

One week I had to go to Chicago for some personal business and I met up with Gabi in person. We had a lovely time it was like I’d always known him the brother I never had before. We laughed, talked about music and sang our favorite songs in the middle of the street.

I got to see his studio and heard some fresh music before release and even met his adorable mum.  We had a fun night out as he showed me some of his favorite places in downtown Chicago.  There were lovely views and fun places where we danced and had some nice meals too to be able to stay out and dance all night.  So many #PLUR vibes that night. I’ll never forget that lovely time.  It really is a great time meeting Twitter friends you have gotten to know and trust, especially to me when they have the same passion for music.

Iam honored to have him as my first featured Artist 😊

About the Artist by the Artist

My artist name is You Wish, my real name Gabriel Mican.  I’m artist & producer based in Chicago, USA. I classifies my style as Progressive House music with some Electro – all built around a love for a strong melody.

My music has a feel-good vibe that is captured on my 2016 release “Girl Like You” co-produced by house music pioneer Vince Lawrence, which debuted #1 on Dance Top 100 Releases as well as #3 Electro House Top 100 charts on Beatport.com! The track eventually hit #1 on the Beatport Electro House Top 100 chart, as well as #5 on the Beatport Top 100 New Releases charts! The track features Chaddy (of “The Streets on Fire” Chicago group), and also benefited of a Electro House remix by New Jersey producer Draco Savon. 

For me the early 1990s Euro-dance was a big influence back when I lived in Europe. Groups like The Prodigy and Faithless served as inspiration to become a music artist and producer myself. It was around that time that I got my hands on a Casio keyboard, a gift from my father! I became instantly in love with synthesizers! A passion which I share with producer and fellow Chicagoan Vince Lawrence whom I met in 2010. Acknowledged universally as the producer of the first House record “On and on” back in the late ‘80s, Lawrence saw right away the potential waiting to be explored in “You Wish”. 

Having lived in different parts of Europe (Romania, Monaco and France) and now in the USA, I knows first-hand the impact that electronic dance music has on people. Its message is that of love, unity and respect. It’s the sound of hypnotic synthesizers and hard kicking drums that brings fans together who share a common love for dance music. It is out of this love that my music label “Wish Music” was born in 2013. I wanted to build something that Chicago, the city that started it all, would be proud of.

Earlier this year on March 6th, my 5 track E.P. “Crazy Life” came in at #2 on the Dance New Releases charts (later on peaking at #1), #1 on Electro New Releases and #1 on the Big Room New Releases Charts on Beatport.com! It was an epic way to follow-up my previous release “Girl Like You”, especially for an independent artist with no major label support!

My newest release “Freak”, another Vince Lawrence Co-Production was released on November 27th. Fueled by hypnotic synths and a dark electro beat, ‘Freak’ tells the story of a sensual minx. The track it’s sure to bring out the “Freak” in everyone on the dancefloor!

You Wish

Smily’s Great classics part 1

Playlists, playlists playlists. Even if you know me just a little you know I can’t get enough of them. I make playlists at least weekly but sometimes even daily 😋. I have them for different years, moods, genres, seasons etc etc etc. And I never ever have enough. I keep making more of them and I just love love love to share them with all of you so that you can enjoy them with me.

Not too long ago I was browsing and listening to some classic tracks on Spotify and whenever I do this it then makes me think of more and more classic tracks that I love and are still so great to listen to.

So I’ve decided I’m going to do a series of small playlists with classic tracks. I am keeping them small to make  it easier to share them and talk about the tracks a bit.

This the first one in the series. Please enjoy and look forward to more in the future. Some of which I’d like to involve all of you in too. I’ll put up a tweet occasionally asking for your input on a favorite classic and then I’ll include the ones I enjoy as well in the future playlists.

1) Moby – God Moving over the face of the Waters

Moby is a genius when it comes to music in my book. I especially favor the older tunes because the melodies are beautiful and original. This is one that lets my mind drift away. Such a lovely track.

2) DJ Jean – The Launch

Anyone that is into any kind of Dance Music in the Netherlands probably knows this track or should know it 😉  It is recognized worldwide  and I love the sound of it. There’s many remixes done of this track but the original is my favorite.

3) Enigma – Return to Innocence

4) Ian can Dahl – Castles in the Sky

This sing makes me happy. I don’t know how else to express it. The sound and singing along with it makes my heart feel happy 💖 so I had to add this!

5) SNAP! – Rythm is a Dancer

Lovely beats and strong vocals and when you listen to it you hear it’s older by the style. To this day this gets thrown in to live sets and most people know and sing with it. Good Vibes 💙

6) Mauro Picotto – Komodo

This is a classic that has a melody and beat that still gets me every time I hear it. Goosebump music 😍

7) Guru Josh Project, Klaas Gerling – Infinity 2008 Klaas Remix

To me this deserves a spot in the classics list that I love. I remember when this remix came out and I played it to death on repeat. Still turn it up when it comes on 🎶🎶🎷

8) Gigi D’Agostino – L’Amour Toujours

This song oh this song 😍🎶🎶 the best the melody the song to sing along with. A favorite of mine always ❤

9) Lasgo – Something

I don’t know how big Lasgo was in USA but in Europe Lasgo was played a LOT. I like this singer her voice was my favorite and this is one of my favorite tracks of theirs 😄

10) Grooveyard – Mary Go Wild

An underground track turned famous. And it deserves all the attention it got. It’s beautiful and original. Nothing like it and I love it.

Hi I’m Richard van Dongen and my alias is Rico Garcia. I have been active in the Music industry for 25 years. I am not tied to one genre and produce clubhouse, trance, Techno, indiepop,electro etc. I have been an active DJ for 17 years. I’ve had the honor to work with great names like Funkerman,Tiësto,Mental Theo and more. I constantly busy myself with finding new talent to work with and creating projects for live artists and studio performers.

About the track by the artist

The song Blue Sky is the second track working with vocalist Lorraine Gray who I found on Soundcloud. This track is a timeless lovely Summer track.

I appreciate it for it’s simplicity and lovely vocals, work all can identify with. I’m also excited to announce this track will be added to the game app Beatfever. I hope you’ll enjoy my track.

This is one of those easy to listen to songs filled with Good Vibes. The kind you happily listen and dance to with family and friends while bbqing on the beach. Filled with happy summer vibes. To me it’s a nice tropical dance tune with lovely vocals.
