Smily’s featured track – Bliss by CBKtrxx

Hello lovelies,

It is nice to be back to start writing blog articles again. For a while I wondered if it was still relevant to keep doing this. But based off all your feedback it is still very much wanted so I will continue to do this for now.

Most blogs charge a fee to create a post to offset the time it takes to put together. I have not done so yet but may ask for a small fee to help support me support all of you in the near future. For now if you want to buy me a coffee or send a small token of appreciation for the support of music artists it is much appreciated.

You may do so here:

https://paypal.me/smilydutchgirl?country.x=US&locale.x=en_US

My first featured track of the year is one of the tracks on my most recent curated Spotify playlists. I have followed and listened to CBKtrxx for a little while now and enjoy the different and unique sounds.

In addition to a love for music we also discovered that we share a love for KLM (Dutch airline) which was something really fun to find out.

What draws me to this track is a combination of the beautiful melodic sound mixed with a dark sound.

I look forward to hearing what all of you think about the track. Be sure to follow, listen and send some positive messages to encourage this artist to keep up the great work.

Now let’s let the artist speak and tell us about themselves and the track

About the track and Artists by the Artist:

Hi I am CBKtrxx and I am an electronic songwriter/producer from Sweden.

Most of the music is electronic and retro influenced, but I can pick up the guitar and bass too.

I like to make new music that comes to me. To paint with a sound and producing it and find something beautiful.

I listen to a lot of music and have always done. I grew up with synthpop and then went deep into the indie music scene. We had a good indie band with live music and guitars, bass and drums and then I let it go for awhile. The music. Then I felt I have more music to make.

I think about songs and sounds all the time. Honestly I do music for myself. But the joy of people listening to my music is unreal. Those people who find my music and let me know

I started to release songs in 2020 and they are somewhere in the electronic retro world with an indie influence. I work in Logic Pro and record most of it at home. I like to program some and then playing for real. Get the feeling into it. I did a song called The Beach which is meant to have a lofi vibe and a song called Slowly which is more dreampop. The latest songs Bliss and Faith are more electronic

Bliss and Faith are my latest songs. 2 songs that I felt belong together.

Bliss is an indie electronic song that builds up a feeling to a sound of retro synthesizers. Programmed synthbass and beats combined with real playing it has something of an electronic slow blues vibe in it. It is dark but melodic and ask what Bliss is.

I started out with lyrics that were more advanced and they didn’t feel right when I first tried them. They looked good but Bliss is a special song where the sound is dark and it is like a drawn out feeling and well. I did a take with lyrics more straight to the point and it felt so much better. That is where the ”if you ask I’m gonna tell you” comes from. Bliss is about a feeling you get with the right person. “And your taste it goes around me, and the flavor magnifies me”. I am really happy with the song and the sound on this one.

That’s it everyone please find links to the artist and track below

Don’t forget to support each other and your art, spread love and kindness and keep on dancing.

Good Vibes to all of you ☺️ Smily/Judy

Smily’s featured track January 2021

Hello all you wonderful music loving humans. It has been a while since I have been actively posting articles on my blog.

Last year I started out active and extra happy, looking forward to sharing many musical and travel adventures in addition to the usual featured tracks and Artists I like to support here.

2020 didn’t quite go as planned for any of us including my plans for the blog and artist support. As we are now starting in 2021 and still unsure if how all will unfold this year, I’d like to remain hopeful. I wish all of you health and the best this year as well.

I would like to kick off the year with my first featured track article. This track is one I discovered last year and played a lot. Let’s get started

A bit about the artist by the artist

Hi there, I am Jeremy Greysmark. I am a music producer and have been playing the piano since a young This is somethang that influenced my music, and made me very melody oriented.

The way I personally like to work is by starting by writing a colourful melody purely on the piano. If it sounds good on there, it will work in a full track.

I was born and raised in Germany. I lived and worked in Scotland and then moved to London in 2014 where I am still currently based.

One of the things I have had the honor to do were writing the music for the closing ceremony of a German music festival called Parookaville in the years 2015 2016 and 2017. I also work as a sound designer for animations.

A bit about the track by the Artist

I wrote Faceless when I lived in Scotland, Aberdeen. In the same year I moved to London and discovered that Jodie my flatmate was an excellent singer.

This song uses a variety of delays and pianos to create this unique sounding melodic plucky instrument. Vocal chops of Jodie have been used in the drop to make it sound different. The vocals have not been pitched like in a lot of other songs, which makes it feel more organic and give this song this deep feel.

The lyrics and the general feel came from the daily chore of commuting in London or any other big city for that matter. Everything is very anonymous, people just care for themselves and everyone is just out to help themselves. Everybody on a daily commute is literally faceless. People concentrate not to make eye contact in order to make it to the end of the day quicker. Any distraction or hold up is inconvenient and the daily “rat race” just seems never-ending

A bit about the Artist by Smily

Jeremy and I have followed each other on twitter for quite sometime. I’ve always enjoyed our interactions, listening to melodies he created and posted and him commenting on tracks I’ve shared as well as joining in on some of the random things I like to do on Twitter to connect with humans worldwide. I enjoy our conversations and appreciate the way he focuses on the melody.

A bit about the track by Smily

One one of my routine Artist Support playlists I was building, Jeremy sent me this track. When I listened to it I immediately liked it. The melody is great and catchy while remaining unique, I love that the vocals were not autotuned (which I feel gets so overused in this industry) and the message touched me too. I am the kind of human that enjoys connecting with people, and often when these kind of routines fall into place maybe we can feel a distance building.

I enjoyed the track so much that I submitted it to be part of my monthly radioshow that I have had the honor to air on Bostin Radio. They loved the track there as well and have made it a part of their regular rotation of music 🎶

I think after 2020 we all need human connections even more then ever and when we go back to a more adjusted life I hope we will keep this in mind and find the right balance.

Now it is your turn, listen to the music here and let me know your thoughts. Remember to support your artists, they need it so they can continue to make more music 🎶

Hello lovely Twitterfam! How is everyone? I hope you are all enjoying your weekend.💖

I am ready to share some more featured tracks this weekend and right now I would like to introduce you to Jaylyn from Manchester, England.

I really enjoy her presence on Twitter supporting all artists as well as her great skills and unique style of music.

Please make sure you follow her on Twitter @JaylynSnowMusic

I’ve been meaning to feature one of Jaylyns tracks for a while and am so glad to do so today ☀️🌈

Let’s have her introduce herself and share some information about her track!

A little about the artist by the artist

Hi there, I’m Jaylyn Snow. I’m an electronic dance music producer from Cheshire, England.

I didn’t use the term “EDM” for a reason though! I don’t like to put a genre on my music, it doesn’t fit into the current definition of “EDM” but it’s electronic and it makes you dance so.. I dunno!

I’ve spent most of my life playing instruments and writing music, but until 2017 I didn’t really think too much into music production away from playing my guitar and writing down a few words and chords.

The best way to explain how I got into this side of things would be boredom. I was really bored one day and downloaded the 30 day free trial of Ableton, cranked out a track, and people hated it.

Back to the drawing board I went. Instead of using Ableton, I switched over to FL Studio and bought a full licence for it, took onboard the negative comments I received in regards to the only track I’d ever uploaded, and started making some real, soul fuelled music.

Although my style has constantly changed/evolved over the couple of years I’ve been producing music, I like to believe that I’ve stuck to my melodic, story telling style for the most part.

I’m not too sure where I want from music production, I’m just enjoying the ride, expressing myself and enjoying connecting with a ton of likeminded, talented individuals.

About the track by the artist

Damage is not a new track of mine but it’s one of my personal favourites and I feel it tells the exact story I wanted it to during production.

The track was inspired by my own self, the build-up of anger in the song was how I was feeling at the time of production due to things that were going on in my life.

About the track by Smily

This track is really well done, I believe this is one of the first tracks by Jaylyn that I noticed and thought oh I really like her style! 😁🌸🌸🎶

Since then I have been listening to many of her tracks and enjoying hearing the creativity and expression in music!

It’s a catchy beat and melody and really well put together. I love having this track play on my drive home after a high stress day at work (even jobs you lo e can be high stress some days) and I feel this great sense of stress relief listening to it going in to “the zone” listening to it.

I hope you will all enjoy it too. Below are the different ways to listen to it.

Dont forget to share the article, listen and share the track if you enjoyed it, and of course show Jaylyn some support 😊

Smily’s featured Remix

Hello all you beautiful souls!🌈😊🎶✌

Today I’d like to introduce you to a lovely Virtual Self remix made by Sine Wave ( @arismakesmusic ) I was introduced to Aris mixes by my friend Chez ( @astateofchez ) with a check this guy out I think you’ll like his music and she knows me well! I like Aris unique sound all his own on all his music. This particular remix I am featuring is the one I like best so far! I look forward to all future work of Aris and look forward to help support him 😊

Let’s give him a chance to introduce himself and talk a bit about his music!

A bit about the Artist by the Artist

I grew up in a very musical family. My mother and grandfather are both gifted musicians. Both of them were grade school music teachers in Soviet Armenia, where I was born. When we moved to the United States in 1988, music was one of the few things our family could hold on to from our past. I grew up listening to all sorts of world music, and in my teens, found heavy metal, which eventually led me to electronic music in my college years. I was amazed at the stuff people like Aphex Twin, Autechre, and Squarepusher were putting out. So I downloaded a free tracking software in 2001 (because recording gear was so expensive at the time) and started my journey in music making. The rest, as they say, is history.

A bit about the mix by the Artist

I fell in love with ‘a.i.ngel’ immediately. Virtual Self did a beautiful job bringing up nostalgic memories of an era of electronic music that is now lost in time, buried deep in an internet that no longer exists. And when I started to listen to remixes of this song, they all sort of sounded the same to me. So I figured I try and change it up a bit. I wanted this mix to gallop at a completely different pace than the original. I also wanted the mix to sound like it was being played by a rock band in a galactic circus, with the focal point of this mix being the outro of the original. Well there isn’t much more I can say I think. The description Aris uses of his mix is beautifully worded. I personally enjoy how Aris has managed to have a unique sound that’s all his own, without allowing too much outside influence. Sticking to his gut in music and sound and following his heart. Keep up the great work!

Please follow him on Twitter @arismakesmusic and listen to his mix below. Remember how much it means to artists for you to listen to, share and tell them how much you like their music.

As always much love,

Smily’s featured Track

Hello all you beautiful souls 🌈❤🌈

It is time again for my next featured track. Today’s track is by Liquid Mazes aka Ryan Shawn who has been sharing original tunes on Twitter for years while also listening and supporting other artists. Isn’t that important in this industry that we all support each other? Today let’s support him by listening to his track and sharing it/commenting if you enjoyed it as well .

A bit about the Artist by the artist.

Ryan Shawn McDonald from Vancouver Island, British Columbia Canada. I have been taking music seriously as far as production about 5 years. I don’t limit myself to one genre and consider  myself a multi genre artist.

A bit about the Track by the artist.

I made the track in mid summer while a lot of emotions were flowing through me at the time. I feel like that came through in the sound. It’s me on the piano keys, i did the entire track, no samples.

A bit about the Track by Smily.

I chose this track by Ryan because the melody is so pleasant and dreamy. The title fits this song as I can imagine looking up at the stars with a hopefull dreamy feeling, on the verge of falling in love, with thoughts of good days ahead. A song for us dreamers that aren’t afraid to dream but then also go after making those dreams come true.

Please give it a listen and help support the artist by sharing this article, following @StanginNbangin  on Twitter and listening to and sharing the music. Kind comments are always welcome too as this keeps artists motivated 😊

Here’s the track! And as an added bonus Ryan has been so kind to offer a download of this track as well!

Here it is! Don’t forget to let me know what you think!

Much love always ❤ Smily

Smily’s featured Track

Good day all you wonderful people ❤

I have a new featured track for you all to enjoy. As you all know I am a bit newer to the Techno genre and have been exploring that field some in addition to the electronic genres I already love so much. Today I want to introduce you to a friend of mine that has been sharing great podcasts and mixes with me that I truly enjoy. Chris Porter. We started talking about him producing his own music and I was very delighted when he went for it and started making his own tracks. Let’s let Chris speak for himself. 😊

A bit about the Artist by the Artist

I’m Chris Porter, living in the Western Isles, Scotland. DJ for 8 years and most recently started producing. I have regular slots on radio stations like casafondaradio.com, studiosoundsradio.com and locally on anradio.scot.

I love a bass heavy sound driving a dance floor and just aim to play and share motivating, captivating Techno. Hardcore Drumcode fan boy 😂

A bit about the track by the Artist

The track is made from inspired ideas kind of subconsciously from my favourite producers. Trikk, Pan Pot, Pig & Dan, Adam Beyer, Harvey MacKay I could go on, I’m happy how it sounds although I will need to have it mastered and feel optimistic about future projects! 😁

To be honest I want to make techno sounds that haven’t been heard before but keeping a deep dark driving energy about it, hopefully I will keep to my word!

A bit about the track by Smily

I liked it the moment I heard it. It has a nice tech feel to it that close your eyes and dance to the way the music makes you feel kind of vibe. I think Chris is modest and has great talent in his field. This track isn’t mastered yet but still manages to sound really good.

Please listen to his track below and give it a share and a comment if you like it to show your support. You may follow Chris on Twitter as well @ChrisIPorter

Smily’s featured free download!

Hello all you beautiful souls!!!!💜💚💖

Do I have a special treat for you my fellow music lovers. A free download from Jack Taylor! Let me tell you how this came about.

I was speaking with my friends Martin from Norway @HMTharald on Twitter who together with a team manages @JVCK_TVYLOR a talented artist (in my opinion) and my friend Chez from Australia @astateofChez who actively supports them.

During our conversation they mentioned how Jack made a really great DJsnake bootleg remix that was going to be posted on SoundCloud. I was looking forward to hearing and sharing it with all of you, but there were some complications in getting it uploaded to SoundCloud, it just would not allow it to be put up there.

No one should keep good music from the world so we came up with the idea for me to share this lovely remix as a free download via my blog.

So here it is my dears a free download courtesy of @HMTharald and @JVCK_TVYLOR please give them a follow as a thank you and look forward to more great music in the future. 😎🎶

Here’s your link to download. Tweet me if you have downloaded the track and let me know what you think. 😙

Smilys featured track

Hello my dears 💕🌞

It’s time again for one of my featured tracks. This track is by DJ CO$MO aka Jacob, who I’ve had the pleasure to talk to via Twitter for a while now. I like Jacob’s positive attitude and how he wants to help others. Let’s let him have a word, here’ssomething about the artist by the artist.

A bit about the Artist

Hi, my name is Jacob Lloyd Saulnier, AKA DJ CO$MO. I am 20 years old and was born and raised somewhere in Canada and I have a disability. You probably want to know how I got my DJ name, right? Well, 4 or so years ago I’ve started to produce music (EDM) and I didn’t have a name for myself, so I searched the great wonders of the internet and found nothing that’s being used. So I finally figured out it’s going to be DJ CO$MO (yeah I know I might have to pay someone someday) but in the meantime I’m gonna stick with it. I love all kinds of Music Genres,  EDM, Trance and PSY-Trance. I’m starting to produce Trance, like you see here. My favorite accomplishment so far is that I’ve been on the radio in the UK with my track “Skin Deep” Ft. Lorraine Gray. Friends on social media helped guide me along the way. I always think to myself “It’s not just me that I make music for, it’s for the whole world” remember that.

A bit about the track by the artist

The reason why I made this track, is because I always feel chills going through my skin when I listen to Uplifting Trance. Some tracks take longer than others, this one took almost 2 and a half months of production. A friend of mine who is a great producer assisted me with mastering.

About the track by Smily

I like that this a track that focusses on the music. It’s not a generic cookie cutter track. (Thank you for that) In my opinion it’s a nice uplifting Trance vibe, good beats and a sweet melody.

Letssupport Jacob by sharing this article, listening to his track, and reposting and sharing it if you like it 😎🎶 and don’t forget to let me know your thoughts.

Much love always,

Smily ❤

Smilys featured Track 🎶 Earthquake by Merco

Hello all you beautiful souls 😘🎶

It’s time for my next featured track. This one is by Merco/DJ Merco who I had the pleasure of getting to know in the Netherlands. He’s a great producer and DJ as well as a nice guy.

First a note about this track and inspiration by Merco himself 😊

Short Description:

This winter I have been working hard on a very special Moombahton track. Here is my new release Earthquake! With a big bassline, lot’s of drums and a lovely vocal this track will give your upcoming summer some extra heat!

Inspiration:
For this song I got inspired by a Dutch music trend: big brass and baselines. I gave it my own ‘organic’ touch with real instruments to make it feel more real and not computer made. This song is different because it is in between a radio friendly song and a club track. I think this is a new way of making Moombahton songs!
Smily’s perspective on this track.
This is such a happy summer song. The kind of track you dance extra hard too when you are out with friends and it comes on or blast while you are traveling to where you need to go. It’s a song filled with good vibes and has that flirty romance feeling to it. I like it a lot it definitely gets the Smily stamp of approval😁
Not only do I like the way it makes me feel and the sound. When you listen closely you can hear it wasn’t just thrown together. A lot of good producing went into this. Great job Marco😊✌
Please remember to listen to the track, share this article and give @DJMerco a follow on Twitter. These things help support the artist. 😁
Here’s the Spotify link
There’s other places to listen to this track as well.
Now I ‘d love to know how YOU like this track so comment here or tweet at me.
Keep smiling and dancing 💕💗💙
So much love,
Smily
