Smily’s featured track January 2021

Hello all you wonderful music loving humans. It has been a while since I have been actively posting articles on my blog.

Last year I started out active and extra happy, looking forward to sharing many musical and travel adventures in addition to the usual featured tracks and Artists I like to support here.

2020 didn’t quite go as planned for any of us including my plans for the blog and artist support. As we are now starting in 2021 and still unsure if how all will unfold this year, I’d like to remain hopeful. I wish all of you health and the best this year as well.

I would like to kick off the year with my first featured track article. This track is one I discovered last year and played a lot. Let’s get started

A bit about the artist by the artist

Hi there, I am Jeremy Greysmark. I am a music producer and have been playing the piano since a young This is somethang that influenced my music, and made me very melody oriented.

The way I personally like to work is by starting by writing a colourful melody purely on the piano. If it sounds good on there, it will work in a full track.

I was born and raised in Germany. I lived and worked in Scotland and then moved to London in 2014 where I am still currently based.

One of the things I have had the honor to do were writing the music for the closing ceremony of a German music festival called Parookaville in the years 2015 2016 and 2017. I also work as a sound designer for animations.

A bit about the track by the Artist

I wrote Faceless when I lived in Scotland, Aberdeen. In the same year I moved to London and discovered that Jodie my flatmate was an excellent singer.

This song uses a variety of delays and pianos to create this unique sounding melodic plucky instrument. Vocal chops of Jodie have been used in the drop to make it sound different. The vocals have not been pitched like in a lot of other songs, which makes it feel more organic and give this song this deep feel.

The lyrics and the general feel came from the daily chore of commuting in London or any other big city for that matter. Everything is very anonymous, people just care for themselves and everyone is just out to help themselves. Everybody on a daily commute is literally faceless. People concentrate not to make eye contact in order to make it to the end of the day quicker. Any distraction or hold up is inconvenient and the daily “rat race” just seems never-ending

A bit about the Artist by Smily

Jeremy and I have followed each other on twitter for quite sometime. I’ve always enjoyed our interactions, listening to melodies he created and posted and him commenting on tracks I’ve shared as well as joining in on some of the random things I like to do on Twitter to connect with humans worldwide. I enjoy our conversations and appreciate the way he focuses on the melody.

A bit about the track by Smily

One one of my routine Artist Support playlists I was building, Jeremy sent me this track. When I listened to it I immediately liked it. The melody is great and catchy while remaining unique, I love that the vocals were not autotuned (which I feel gets so overused in this industry) and the message touched me too. I am the kind of human that enjoys connecting with people, and often when these kind of routines fall into place maybe we can feel a distance building.

I enjoyed the track so much that I submitted it to be part of my monthly radioshow that I have had the honor to air on Bostin Radio. They loved the track there as well and have made it a part of their regular rotation of music 🎶

I think after 2020 we all need human connections even more then ever and when we go back to a more adjusted life I hope we will keep this in mind and find the right balance.

Now it is your turn, listen to the music here and let me know your thoughts. Remember to support your artists, they need it so they can continue to make more music 🎶

Helloooo all you music loving people!💕

It has been a while since my last article and I’m excited to write and share some new goodies with you all. 😊

Let me introduce you to my friend Ashni who already has had some top of the chart hits in Europe and is a bit newer in the USA market.

She is a beautiful soul, a fun and kind-hearted person. Gorgeous inside and out. She has a great passion for her music and I feel connected to her through that passion for music.

I’m excited to share her new track with you all. First let’s let her talk a bit about the track!

About the track by the artist

This track was written and produced by Mr.Z. who previously wrote for me, so we decided to join forces and do a song together.  This is how CrazyThings was born.

For me personally this is the first track I have done in this genre. This track gives me such a happy heart and positive energy.

It provides me with a sense of freedom and being a real woman, while singing and dancing to it. It’s the time you can completely let go!

This track gives me the feeling that anything is possible!🎶💕😍

About the track by Smily

The more I watch the video and listen to the track the more it makes me smile. Everyone involved in this was SO happy while they made this track. That really counts for something with me deep in my heart. ❤

It is a fun and upbeat track, sure to get you dancing no matter what genre of music you are into.

My tastes have a wide range from underground and obscure to dreamy floaty trance and happy progressive to mainstream.

I feel this particular track has the potential of becoming very big in the mainstream market.  You can tell that everyone involved in this has a great love for what they do and that everyone of the people that were involved with this track clearly has a passion for music and doesn’t that deserve our full support?

So all you twitterfam that love music and like reading my blog, do your thing!

Smily’s Great classics part 1

Hello all you lovely people💗❤

Playlists, playlists playlists. Even if you know me just a little you know I can’t get enough of them. I make playlists at least weekly but sometimes even daily 😋. I have them for different years, moods, genres, seasons etc etc etc. And I never ever have enough. I keep making more of them and I just love love love to share them with all of you so that you can enjoy them with me.

Not too long ago I was browsing and listening to some classic tracks on Spotify and whenever I do this it then makes me think of more and more classic tracks that I love and are still so great to listen to.

So I’ve decided I’m going to do a series of small playlists with classic tracks. I am keeping them small to make  it easier to share them and talk about the tracks a bit.

This the first one in the series. Please enjoy and look forward to more in the future. Some of which I’d like to involve all of you in too. I’ll put up a tweet occasionally asking for your input on a favorite classic and then I’ll include the ones I enjoy as well in the future playlists.

Here’s the first 10 tracks 😙

1) Moby – God Moving over the face of the Waters

Moby is a genius when it comes to music in my book. I especially favor the older tunes because the melodies are beautiful and original. This is one that lets my mind drift away. Such a lovely track.

2) DJ Jean – The Launch

Anyone that is into any kind of Dance Music in the Netherlands probably knows this track or should know it 😉  It is recognized worldwide  and I love the sound of it. There’s many remixes done of this track but the original is my favorite.

3) Enigma – Return to Innocence

A very unique sound that I haven’t heard anyone else make. It’s that new agy sound from back in the day. Dreamy and with a lovely message 😍

4) Ian can Dahl – Castles in the Sky

This sing makes me happy. I don’t know how else to express it. The sound and singing along with it makes my heart feel happy 💖 so I had to add this!

5) SNAP! – Rythm is a Dancer

Lovely beats and strong vocals and when you listen to it you hear it’s older by the style. To this day this gets thrown in to live sets and most people know and sing with it. Good Vibes 💙

6) Mauro Picotto – Komodo

This is a classic that has a melody and beat that still gets me every time I hear it. Goosebump music 😍

7) Guru Josh Project, Klaas Gerling – Infinity 2008 Klaas Remix

To me this deserves a spot in the classics list that I love. I remember when this remix came out and I played it to death on repeat. Still turn it up when it comes on 🎶🎶🎷

8) Gigi D’Agostino – L’Amour Toujours

This song oh this song 😍🎶🎶 the best the melody the song to sing along with. A favorite of mine always ❤

9) Lasgo – Something

I don’t know how big Lasgo was in USA but in Europe Lasgo was played a LOT. I like this singer her voice was my favorite and this is one of my favorite tracks of theirs 😄

10) Grooveyard – Mary Go Wild

An underground track turned famous. And it deserves all the attention it got. It’s beautiful and original. Nothing like it and I love it.

Below is my playlist, please follow and listen and let me know your thoughts 🌈😊🎶

Much love to all of you!

Smily 💙💜💗🌈
